Our Philosophy

Montessori way of education

Dr. Maria Montessori founded the Montessori method in the early 1900s. Her scientific approach to education was shaped around the individual needs of the child. The goal was to develop the child and their whole personality.

Built on three primary principles – observation, individual freedom, and preparation of the environment – Montessori classroom is designed as an environment where children could freely choose from a number of developmentally appropriate activities.

Montessori in ABODE

Montessori Philosophy dictates that each child learns at their own pace and is allowed the time to concentrate and master concepts before moving on to a new one. Studying in a Montessori environment grooms a child to be self-motivated and curious with a deep love of learning.

At ABODE we stay true to the Montessori Philosophy and it’s five areas of learning.

Our Differentiators

Mixed Age Classrooms
Mixed Age Classrooms

Learning by imitation and learning by observation is the key to human learning. Our mixed age group classrooms are an essential factor for modelling behaviours of real life - collaboration, mentoring, leadership.

Follow the Child
Follow the Child

Following Dr Maria Montessori’s core principles of ‘follow the child’, we create an environment so the child can explore and learn at their own pace and are allowed the time to work on and master concepts before moving on to new ones.

Early Readers Program
Early Readers Program

A unique phonetic book based reading program which helps the child work through various phonograms and orthogonal challenges of reading. This program enables a child to read their first book around the age of 4.5 years and become whole readers before they complete 6 years of age. 120 books are carefully designed to expand their ability to comprehend while reading at their speed.

The key feature of this program is that the sessions are done 1:1 with the child and the Book Bag teacher. This direct interaction between child and teacher builds on their vocabulary, comprehension and reading skills.

The Book Bag series is a key program in ABODE, and it helps create a lifelong love for reading.
